Bosch eight-cylinder injection pump (07T001), was produced for tests at Mercedes-Benz W165 1,5 Liter racing car, to manage the bubble formation in the carburetor because of the heat at the Grand Prix of Tripoli 1939 in Lybia , because of the time pressure in the development the tests couldn't be finished, and so the bubble formation during the race was accepted , similar pumps were used in the racing cars W196 and W196S (300SLR), but they differ in larger capacity of the pump element W196 2.5 liter / W196S 3 liter / W165 1.5 liter, Bosch has no documents about this pump, but refer to the case of the pump that was made with sand casting, this method is exclusively used at small series or individual items, pump is mounted on an aluminum display, sizes with display c. 35x39x27cm
