 1903, handwritten draft by the driver contract between Emil Jellinek "Mercedes" and Baron de Caters for the race Paris-Madrid 1903, Baron de Caters started with a Mercedes Simplex 90PS, with start number 27, the race go down in history as "death race" , it became a tragedy, at least 7 people died in this race, among others designing engineer Marcel Renault, with many hurt spectators, the view was restricted because of whirled-up dust, so the spectator go on the road and the accidents were unavoidable, finally the French authorities decided to stop the race in Bordeaux, Fernand Gabriel with a Mors was pronounce as winner of the race, museum quality
