1957, Scuderia Ferrari, road book Mille Miglia 1957 from the personal property of Piero Taruffi, 47 pages (complete), 23.5x15.5cm, in chronology order of the races the Mille Miglia was the third event of the sports car world championship, Piero Taruffi drove like his teammate Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips in a Ferrari 315 S (#0684), already before the race the promoters were criticize because of the safety for drivers and spectators, the Mille Miglia 1957 was in the last phase, as the fatal accident of Alfonso de Portago and his co-driver Edmund Nelson happened, till Rome Peter Collins was dominating the race with his Ferrari 335S but almost 200 km before the finish of the race his differential was damaged and he had to quit the race, thsi was the hour of Piero Taruffi who was already 51 years old , Taruffi took in 1933 already a third place for the Scuderia Ferrari, and drove his battered 315 Sport with "kid gloves"to his first overall victory, , historically very interesting document, museum quality
